Walking Away

Out in the desert, distance seems unbearable.

The closer the destination, the farther it seems.

The sand waves, burning on your skin.

I keep walking and walking, but I can’t meet the sky.

Is that blue shade even there or is it just a mirage?

The symmetry of the sand is what baffles me the most.

The hot wind blows and scatters their flow,

but they come back together, together as a whole.

The waves, the curves, the dunes, the hills;

it has many forms, but my direction is still lost;

I keep walking and walking but the sky, it still seems far.
